Special Needs Parents Association - "Bringing Parents Together"
on 1st October at the Gibson Hotel in Dublin.
We hope to provide parents with an opportunity to meet each other and the team behind the Special Needs Parents Association. We would be very appreciative if you could forward details to other parents or share details on website or Facebook pages that your organisation may have.
The aim of the Conference is to bring parents together and give you the opportunity to learn about national and international projects involving parents, children and young people with disabilities.
Keynote speaker on the day will be :
Frances Fitzgerald Minister for Children
Guest speakers will be:
Caroline Canton who is Programme Co ordinator of 'Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People'
Caroline will be explaining the ideas behind the programme and what it will mean for our children.
Tommy Boyle Co founder of Myspecialneeds.ie and the international project 'Our Worlds united'.
Tommy will talk about the plans for his international project 'Our Worlds United' and will include his thought provoking and positive film about integration and inclusion of children with disabilities in Irish schools.
Margaret Barry MSc, B.OT Clinical Manager/Specialist at Sensational Kids.
Margaret will talk about ways of integrating OT into the home environment
Juliann Bergin AT Assessor & Training at the National Assistive Technology Training Service. Juliann will explain the different types of AT and their uses in a school environment and at home.
There will be several exhibit stands ranging from independent therapy services, disability equipment, play and therapy tools shop and information stands.
Our area reps will be available to answer any queries in relation to education, health and welfare provision.
We will have a free raffle on the day with the opportunity to win some great prizes such as hotel stays, spa package, hampers and Avril Webster 'Off We Go' Book series.
The conference fee is €20 to include Tea/Coffee, light lunch, entry into competition.
